It is with terrible sadness that we must report the passing of our former leader, H.E. Nicolas Haimovici Hastier, Guardian of Templar Faith and President of the Council of Regency of the OSMTJ for over twenty years.
We are so thankful for his many years of service, leadership, example, integrity, and friendship that he demonstrated, even to his last days.
A legend in the Templar world, he made many contributions to Templarism through the creation of fraternal ties, such as the Cultural Exchange Agreement with OSMTHU in 2019, as well as through historical writings and research on Templar history, exemplified by his publications “The Rule of The Order of the Knights Templar” (2001) and “Chronology of the Order of the Temple” (2019).
Nicolas was an accomplished Medical Doctor and Professor in his private life as well, who gave his life in service and education, demonstrating his true humanitarian nature. With more than 100 scientific papers published in peer-reviewed medical journals, as well as a consultant to the American Administration (serving as a medical supervisor on several Navy ships including the USS Enterprise), his prowess and intelligence were plainly evident. He has taught at various universities in France and for 12 years has taught at the New York Medical College (Paramus, New Jersey). He was district governor of Rotary in France and an official in many other humanitarian organizations.
Born August 1, 1928 in Paris, France.
Passed March 4, 2023 in Nice, France.
Blessed are you, Nicolas Haimovici Hastier, for you have run your race and finished the course. Well done brother, servant, Guardian of the Templar Faith.
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God”
