For those who missed it, just a reminder that our new chaplain for the Santa Barbara Commandery in Florida gave a presentation at our Priory Round Table on the Ancient Spanish Monastery in Miami. Father Mansfield, the Rector of the Monastery is a member of the Order.
The Monastery, built in 1133 AD in Spain, was dismantled and brought to the United States where it had been reconstructed in North Miami Beach. The Monastery is home to the Episcopal Church of St. Bernard de Clairvaux and displays his relics and artifacts related to the Templars.
Members of St. Mark’s Priory are, of course, welcome to attend services on Sundays (8 & 10 am in English; 12 noon in Spanish). The Monastery operates as a Museum Wed-Sun. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids.
Military and members of the OSMTJ Order and their families are admitted free.
Future events such as Investitures, Convents and Chapters, both National (USA) and International are likely to take place here.
